Working with us
Absurd Intelligence is always looking for allies and partners who share our mission and who could muck in. If that could be you, please reach out on info@absurdintelligence.com.
Also, from time to time we have specific roles that we are trying to find the right people for. Any current roles are listed below.
CURRENT ROLES
Social Media & Community Manager
We're looking for a Social Media & Community Manager to lead the social media for two key Absurd Intelligence projects - Speak Up and The Fête of Britain. This is an exciting moment to get on board, as we kick-off both projects on Instagram and LinkedIn.
You’ll be responsible for shaping the social media voice, creating engaging content, and building an active community around our speakers, events and mission.
Founded by the creative brains behind Extinction Rebellion, Absurd Intelligence is a disruptive communications lab operating at the intersection of culture, climate and democracy. We are convening and catalysing an unrivalled network of world-class interdisciplinary experts, with the intention of driving much-needed Narrative and Movement Leadership.
The Fête of Britain is a never-ending festival over the next four years that brings culture and causes together. It’s a massive party with purpose. Whether it’s talks and music, assemblies and sewing, singing and citizen action, wherever it lands, The Fête of Britain will bring people’s skills together to make a better world where we live: artists and faith leaders, scientists and musicians; the unsung heroes of neighbourhoods and people building a better democracy across the length and breadth of these isles. Events over the coming months include activity at The Auxiliary art project in Middlesbrough (25th Sept) and Fêtes at Rough Trade stores in Liverpool (17th Oct) & Bristol (16th Nov).
Speak Up is a new kind of speaker agency joining the dots on democracy, climate, culture, the economy, and misinformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the content calendar across LinkedIn, Instagram (primary channels), TikTok, X/Twitter and BlueSky (secondary channels).
- Write copy for posts, captions, and short-form storytelling aligned with the tone of voice of both projects.
- Manage community engagement: reply to comments, DMs, mentions, and grow conversations.
- Work closely with speakers and partners to amplify their content and ensure consistency.
- Monitor social conversations and trends to inform strategy.
- Provide light reporting on audience growth, engagement and content impact.
Skills & Experience
- Strong written communication and storytelling skills.
- Experience managing brand or campaign social media accounts.
- Knowledge of audience engagement tactics and online community building
- Comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity with social analytics tools (native platform insights or tools like Buffer/Hootsuite).
